Kononchik Flies
Joe Kononchik's flies are the secret weapons of the small, elite crowd of fly fishers that pursue billfish throughout the world's oceans in captain maintained yachts. Although the mass-produced Cam Sigler flies are still in greater demand, it's in the catching when things are slow that makes the difference says billfish on a fly expert Capt. George Sawley. "Cam's flies," says Sawley, "are essentially attractor flies that are too lightweight - they sit on top of the water and get pushed out of play by big fish. Joe's flies look like and swim like baits, and they stay in the water; many times that makes the difference between fishing and catching." Konnochik's tarpon flies are used by the top guides in the Keys and they're now exclusively available from us. Joe's flies are all special order and custom.
LeMay Flies
There isn’t a single fly pattern that we carry of Bob’s patterns that hasn’t proven to be a winner. If catching anything from an 8-pound largemouth bass to a 125-pound tarpon are in your plans, we can help. As a full time guide and commercial tyer, there isn’t much that Bob doesn’t know about the fish and fisheries of South Florida: canals, rivers, lakes and impoundments, Florida Keys, Everglades National Park and Biscayne Bay National Park. When Bob LeMay ties a crab pattern that’s supposed to ambulate like a crab, it ambulates like a crab. All the patterns we offer are battle tested and proven attractors. NOTE: If you have a hook size preference for a particular pattern of Bob's that we're no showing, Bob will tie them up for you (minimum of one dozen).
